Spiral: From the book of Saw Review

★☆☆☆☆

Spiral: From the book of Saw – Darren Lynn Bousman

Who’s in it?

The film stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson,

What’s it about

Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran, brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Is it any good

No..hell no, its turgid, vacuous, boring and lazy. Chris Rock’s pained expresions throughout the film were of putting and the potential for him to be backed up by the always good Samuel L. Jackson were wasted as he seemingly flits in near enough at the beginning then disappears until the very end. Frustratingly dull and this could have been a better movie if they had tried.
